The Ability Roundtable was requested, on behalf of a coalition of NDIS sector peak bodies (National Disability Services (NDS), Intermediaries Australia, CEO Collab and Allied Health Professions Australia (AHPA)), to undertake NDIS price modelling based on the following parameters:
Model the cost of a 3.19% increase to Therapy Supports and Support Coordination, which reflects the increase in the price of an hour of support in the NDIA’s Disability Supports Cost Model between the 2023-24 and 2024-25 financial year price.
Model the cost of a 1% Registered Provider Supplement for Core Supports, Therapy Supports and Support Coordination.
Model the cost of reinstating high intensity support for participants requiring behaviour supports (Ability Roundtable has been unable to provide modelling due to the limited public and benchmarking data available).
The modelling shows the total estimated cost would be $460.33 million in the 2024-25 financial year, which equates to an increase of 1.11% of Scheme costs (based on total payments for 2023-24 financial year). Estimated costs have been calculated based on total payments reported in the NDIA Quarterly Report for 30 June 2024, NDIS payments data published on the NDIS website and Ability Roundtable data.
